Tots Wiggle way through show

A WAVE of Wiggle-mania hit Maryborough yesterday, as hundreds of kids and their parents came to see the famous four men wearing skivvies.

Maryborough dad Jimi Houghton said when tickets went on sale, he camped out overnight to make sure he got front-row seats for his two-year-old daughter Chantelle - and it was worth the wait.

"The Blue Wiggle Anthony saw she was wearing a Dorothy the Dinosaur costume and tutu, and he asked her name and had a bit of a chat," Mr Houghton said.

He said Chantelle was a bit dazed by her up-close encounter with her idols, but she soon got up to dance to her favourite songs.

"It was just great, all the audience was having fun and so did the performers," he said.

Hervey Bay dentist Nicholas White got even closer to the musical supergroup, when he won the chance to become the "Fifth Wiggle".

Dr White was invited on stage to sing along with their hit song "Fruit Salad", after filming a video to win a competition online.

"I was more excited than nervous," Dr White said, about his brief brush with fame.

"My two-year-old daughter Alexandra was a little over-awed when we got to meet the Wiggles but they were just excellent."
