THE Mid-American Trucking Show is said to be the largest annual heavy-duty trucking industry event in the world.
Held each year at the Kentucky Exposition Centre in Louisville, Kentucky, the show attracts 70,000 attendees and more than 1000 exhibitors from throughout the United States and abroad.
Casino Beef Week

THE countdown is on and with only 100 days to go, the excitement for Casino's annual Beef Week Festival is building.
From May 21 to 31, Casino will be buzzing with the sights and sounds of all things Beef Week, and the Around the World theme is sure to have the town dressed to impress, celebrating the diversity of countries, people, places and things the world has to offer.
The preliminary festival program is now being drafted with even more on offer during the 2016 event than ever before.
Family favourites will be back and there are new events scheduled that are sure to please the crowds.
Community support of Casino's flagship festival is strong and sponsorship invitations are being sent out this month.

Where: Kilcoy Showgrounds
When: April 16
Trucks are to assemble at Winya Rd Mt Kilcoy (follow the signs) from 9am-10am to Kilcoy Showgrounds for truck show judging at 11am.
Entry cost is a $10 donation, money raised will go to the Kilcoy Show Society and Kilcoy Kindy.
It will be a great family day out with all the fun of the Kilcoy Show.
This year's feature is Mack Trucks through the decades in Kilcoy.

OzTruckinTV Truck, Car & Bike Show
Where: Pine Rivers Showgrounds
When: June 19
The OzTruckinTV Truck, Car & Bike Show will offer trade and display stalls, a show and shine and live entertainment.
Entry costs are $20 for a truck, $10 for a car and $5 for a bike. General admission is $5 but kids under 10 enter for free.

The Australian Trucking Association - National Trucking Industry Awards
Where: Sea World Conference Centre, Gold Coast
When: June 25
The ATA presents national awards in eight categories and nominations are currently open for the:
- Outstanding Contribution to the Trucking Industry;
- Trucking Industry Woman of the Year;
- National Professional Driver of the Year ;
- National Training Excellence Award;
- Don Watson Memorial Award;
- TruckSafe John Kelly Memorial Award;
- Bridgestone Bandag Highway Guardian Aware
- Craig Roseneder Award for Technical & Maintenance Excellence
- Castrol Vectron Industry Achievement Award
Nominations for these awards closed Monday, March 21.
There are great prizes available, including international trips and cash prizes. Award winners also enjoy industry recognition for their achievements.
The awards will be presented on Saturday June 25 on the Gold Coast at the ATA Foundation Sponsors Gala Dinner during Trucking Australia 2016.

Cattle Crate Industry Forums
Where: Rockhampton, Townsville, Toowomba, Longreach
When: April 18, 19, 26 & May 21
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) is working with cattle crate transporters, crate manufacturers and graziers to make loading, unloading and cross loading of cattle safer in Queensland.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland invite cattle transporters, cattle crate manufacturers/retro-fitters and graziers to attend an industry forum to:
- be updated on the review of the design and use of cattle crates to load, unload and cross load cattle in Queensland
- discuss ideas to improve the safe design and use of cattle crates for these activities
- discuss ways how to progress these improvements
Sessions will be held around Queensland:
- Rockhampton: Monday, 18 April 9-11am
- Townsville: Tuesday, 19 April 1-3pm
- Toowoomba: Tuesday, 26 April 2016 10am - noon
- Longreach: Saturday, 21 May (during the Livestock and Rural Transporters Association of Qld Annual Conference).
