Top five travel trends for 2016
WITH a combined total of 100 years experience in the travel industry, Sheron Konig and her team at Escape Travel Rockhampton know a thing or five about globe trotting.
Agent Rosie Sharvin will be visiting Cuba in September, and has recently been recognised as one of the top 20 agents in Australia with scenic tours.
Her fellow agents Rachelle Forse and Avalon Kruger are also well-seasoned travellers all too happy to divulge their top five travel trends for 2016.
"One of the biggest growth areas for the Australian holidaymaker is cruising,” Sheron said.
"River Cruising in Europe or Asian waters alongside Ocean cruising in the South Pacific, New Zealand, China/ Japan, Mediterrean and North America.”
She said for the younger traveller, adventure trips with a mix of high-adrenalin and physical activities are still very popular.
For her third pick, Sheron said guided holidays with Contiki and Top Deck still prove strong choices for Generation Y.
"Hot spots for those frequent travellers who have been there and done that, is Cuba and South America whilst taking in Antarctica and the Galapagos Islands,” she said of her fourth pick.
Her final word of advice for travellers was to ensure they have peace of mind while travelling.
"Travel insurance plays a big part in the travel industry, making sure you are covered adequately while you are away gives our clients peace of mind, knowing any claims came be dealt with by call center based in Australia, as well as 24/7 assistance from us here at Escape Travel,” she said.
Agent Rosie Sharvin has once again been recognised as one of the Top 20 travel agents in Australia with Scenic Tours, and will be visiting Cuba in September 2016.
