Toowoomba man could be Cosmo's Bachelor of Year
LINCOLN Humphries is one of Australia's most eligible bachelors, named as a finalist for Cosmopolitan's and Tinder's Bachelor of the Year 2018.
The former Toowoomba Grammar School student turned WIN News newsreader is well-known for his upbeat yet diligent manner on-air.
Mr Humphries was raised in Toowoomba and studied journalism and law at the University of Queensland before joining the team at WIN News Toowoomba.
People around Queensland will recognise his face as he is now a newsreader for many Queensland regions.
It was revealed he would be competing for the title in early December, but with less than one week to go until voting closes, ladies don't have much time left to show their support.
He is a finalist in the competition, competing against 29 other men from around Australia.
He is up against some famous faces including model Luke Casey, fashion blogger Nathan McCallum, Neighbours actor Matthew Wilson and doctor and singer Victor Uwagboe.
"I'm as honoured, as I am surprised to be included in top 30 bachelors," he said.
"It's been a mystifying journey since high school trying to figure out what women want, so it's nice to know I'm doing something right.
"If you have any degree of influence in society you should be using it for good.
"I've pursued a career in media to ensure worthy causes and people receive the attention and praise they deserve.
"I see this as another opportunity to promote those causes close to my heart. If it also helps me get a date, that's great."
The winner takes home $5000 and also gets to go on a Contiki trip.
It is up to the public to vote on who they think should be the Bachelor of the Year.
Vote for Mr Humphries by January 31 by visiting cosmopolitan.com.au.
The Bachelor of the Year will be announced in Sydney on Thursday, February 22.
