Toowoomba driver on podium at NSW Titles
SPEEDWAY: Tim Smith is enjoying a great run of form.
The Toowoomba driver followed up his maiden senior state title win with a runner-up finish at the New South Wales Production Sedan Titles at Goulburn Speedway.
Smith qualified for the final on pole and held the lead for the first 22 laps of the 30-lap feature before Damien McAlister took the lead and held on for the win.
"Although we couldn't get the win, we're quite pleased to come away with a runner-up result in the NSW Title,” he said.
"We had a great package throughout the whole day and then we just missed the set-up a bit in the feature race.
"But I have to give it to Damien, he made the most of his track knowledge and out-drove me in the end.”
