THE career of star Toowoomba boxer Michael Katsidis hit another speed bump on Saturday (AEST) when he lost a fourth fight from his last five bouts.
Ghanaian Albert Mensah secured a majority points decision in their 10-round junior welterweight fight at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
It was Katsidis' first loss as a professional to someone who had not previously won a world title.
Katsidis altered his preparation in the lead-up to the fight, moving to the United State and linking with Hollywood trainer Justin Fortune.
Katsidis' fortunes didn't change though as Mensah scored a points decision victory despite the best attacking efforts of the 31-year-old Toowoomba fighter.
Dogged and tenacious Katsidis has won over a legion of fans thanks to his exciting fighting style but his latest loss has raised questions as to what might be his next move following losses over the past 18 months to Juan Manuel Marquez, Robert Guerrero, Ricky Burns and now Mensah.
