Toddler critical after near-drowning

A TWO-YEAR-OLD girl is in hospital following a reported near-drowning in a backyard swimming pool yesterday.

Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics were called to a house at Ironbark Cres, Raceview about, 4.15pm.

The girl was rushed to Lady Cilento Hospital in a critical condition.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said detectives from the Child Protection and Investigation Unit were investigating the incident, and no further information could be provided.
