CLARE Palmer set a new women's record in this year's Pub to Pub run from the Golden Dog at Glenreagh to Corindi's Amble Inn.

Kept company early by Clint Rowlings who was not intending to run the full 29.5 kms, Palmer found herself on record pace and simply kept going, slicing almost a minute off the time Melissa Bulloch set in 2005 to record 2.07.55.

Next to finish was the first man, Phil Butler, who clocked a commendable 2.16.41.

Jan Rooney was next to cross the finish in 2.23.28 well clear of Konrad Legge who held off the 'Fast & Furious' team of Janie Mahoney, Julie McKenzie , Matt Greenaway and Stephanie Upston .

Third places went to Andrew McDonald for the men in 2.37.41 and Rachel Cleary for the women in 2.45.26.

Of special note was the 'double' Pub to Pub effort of Rodney Koopmans who ran to Glenreagh in 2.47 before returning to Corindi in 3.03.

Koopmans performed this in 2016 but was faster in 2018, claiming a new record.

A total of 19 runners finished the full distance.
