WORKING until 3am to get the perfect shot was a dream come true for videographer Kerry Thomas.

The Gladstone woman was filming Broke, a movie that was shot in Gladstone in 2014.

Now it's time to unveil the movie at a premiere, due to be held in Gladstone in April.

Ms Thomas worked closely with producer Luke Graham, in what was her first feature length film.

Some nights they would work until 3am just to get the perfect shot.

"It would be freezing ... It got to the point some nights that my equipment would have moisture on it," she said.

"I'd worked long hours before, but this was different.

"We all got on so well, and because we were on a film set it was just so exciting."

Mr Graham, who is also the founder of Capricorn Film Festival, is eager to see the reaction of the Gladstone crew when they see the movie.

The premiere will be presented by the Capricorn Film Festival.

This year the group hopes to bring more unique films to Gladstone.

"We do look for Australian quality cinema, but Gladstone is made up of people from all parts of the world so we're not going to be limited to just Australian films," Mr Graham said.

"Broke's exciting for everyone involved because it's a film that a lot of people have helped make and create.

"I've been there throughout this whole process so it'll be great to see those people who are from Gladstone, to see something that they've created on the big screen.

"It's Gladstone's first film and I hope it does give people a bit of pride in this town," he said.
