Timber trucks protest in city centre

A CONVOY of logging trucks have parked outside of Victorian State Parliament early this morning as they against the closure of the Heyfield Mill. 

Dozens of trucks arrived at Spring St, in the center of the city in preparation for the rally, set to depart for the Trades Hall at 11am.

Up to 40 semi-trailers and 400 workers from the CFMEU's construction division are expected to join 260 comrades from the mill to protest against the mill's closure.

  Trucks started arriving from 5am, with hundreds of workers expected to arrive by late morning.
