New Zealand artist brings his reggae sound to Gladstone

TIKI Taane is a man of many talents.

The artist, producer and engineer will visit Gladstone for a show at the Grand Hotel.

Tiki Taane is considered a pioneer in the New Zealand music scene, first rising to prominence as frontman of leading band Salmonella Dub before embarking on his solo career in January 2007.

His debut solo release Past Present Future achieved double platinum sales and picked up a swag of awards.

It featured tunes like his beautiful acoustic love ballad "Always On My Mind", which rose to No. 1 and broke two all-time NZ records.

Renowned as much for his powerful, headlining live performances as he is for the anthems he writes and produces, Tiki's extraordinary ability to rock the microphone as both a gifted performance MC and/or a solo acoustic performer is something to be experienced firsthand.

Although affectionately known as "King of the Dubs" in NZ, Tiki's musical influences and appeal are broad, traversing from dub step, traditional style reggae, old school drum and bass and hip-hop, to more contemporary pop/rock sensibilities.

He will perform a show at the Grand Hotel on Friday, September 4.

Tickets are $25 pre sale and $30 at the door and are available here and at the Grand Hotel and the Happy Herb Shop.
