Three men charged after truck crash in Melbourne yesterday

TURNS out yesterday's suspected road rage attack might have been something else.

While details were thin yesterday it was believed that a truckie became the victim of road rage after a crash.

Today police released a statement saying Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit detectives had charged three men following an alleged car theft in Laverton North yesterday and they confirmed it was linked to yesterday's truck crash.

However there was no mention of road rage.

A 20-year-old man with no fixed place of abode was charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of theft of motor vehicle, and five counts of evade police.

A 25-year-old St Albans man was charged with two counts of robbery, three counts of burglary and several other offences.

They both faced an out of sessions court hearing last night and were remanded to the Melbourne Magistrates Court this morning.

A 20-year-old Derrimut man was charged with a single count of theft of motor vehicle and bailed to appear in court at a later date.
