Monster crowds flock to Broadwater for Machinery Day
ETHAN Andrews was so excited to meet his local firefighting heroes he wore his own uniform for two days in anticipation.
The two-year-old and his family were among thousands at the fifteenth annual Monster Machinery Day in the Broadwater Parklands yesterday.
Ethan could barely contain his excitement as he waited in line to check out a real life fire truck.
"It's actually a gift from friends in Canada, and it was his older brother's first, so it's been well loved," dad, Scott Andrews, said.
"He refused to leave home without his uniform, in fact he's been wearing it the past couple days, because he's been so excited.
"He loves everything to do with firefighting ... Fireman Sam, anything with sirens on TV, he can't get enough of it."
More than 50 enormous truck, diggers and even some Disney stars were on display.
Beautiful weather brought the crowds and Councillor Dawn Crichlow was on site, talking to families.
