THE Sunshine Coast's first ever Big Boys Toys Expo has been heralded a success, but organiser Lance Collyer believes he will need much more space in years to come.

With everything from camping and fishing demonstrations to motorbike and monster car stunt shows, Mr Collyer said the variety of the expo was its real drawcard for the whole family.

"Nearly everyone who came through the door was mum, dad and kids," he said.

"It was a very interactive show.

"Everyone was starting their engines, and the monster truck show was going, and the firies were chopping up cars, showing people the jaws of life."

He estimated thousands of people came through the show gates over the two-day event at the weekend.

"Saturday was definitely busier, the weather was kind to us," Mr Collyer said.

"I think for the very first show, it's actually worked out quite well."

Monster trucks, motorbikes, dodgem cars, a giant inflatable dart board, classic cars and more kept the young and young-at-heart entertained at the event, hosted at the Caloundra Senior Rugby League Club fields at Golden Beach.

"I don't think there's been a show like it on the Sunshine Coast," Mr Collyer said.

"Would I do it again? Definitely yes.

"I'm looking forward to doing a few more here."
