Chinese New Year Celebrations

Bring in the Year of the Dog at Mackay City Centre's Chinese New Year celebrations. Come along for a night of culture and fun, there will be something for the whole family to enjoy including dancers, Tai Chi, face painting, craft activities, Asian food stalls, and plenty more.
Porters Mitre 10 Family Fun Day
When: Saturday, February 24, store opens at 8am; activities from 9amWhere: Porters Mitre 10 MackayDetails: Special guests Scott Cam (above) and The Block's Caro & Kingi will be in Mackay to help Porters Mitre 10 Mackay celebrate recent renovations with a grand re-launch and family fun day for the community. Scotty will be there from 11am-1pm and Caro & Kingi from 9am-1pm. The day will enable the community to see the new-look store. There will be demonstrations, in-store specials and family friendly entertainment and activities including face painting, seeding planting and pot decorating, a sausage sizzle, superhero character visits and performances.

It is $10 to enter or $5 for children 6-12 years. All money raised will go to support Ovarian Cancer Research.Do it for Dolly Charity Night
When: Saturday, February 24, 6pm Where: Koumala HotelDetails: Amy 'Dolly' Everett's great-aunt and Koumala local Carol Booth is hosting the Do it for Dolly Charity night. All proceeds will go towards Dolly's Dream Foundation to assist with suicide prevention. The night will iclude karaoke, raffle prizes, a major raffle worth $600 and a BBQ dinner. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in blue, Dolly's favourite colour.
