Thieves target Coast caravan park ahead of holiday season

POLICE warn holiday makers to secure everything from wallets, alcohol, eskies and fishing rods after two bikes were stolen from the Cotton Tree Caravan Park.

Maroochydore Police senior constable Lynda Dowd said police are seeking assistance after the bikes, described as Anaconda "Fluid” brand, were taken from a caravan annex overnight Sunday.

"Police often see high numbers of incidences occurring at camp sites, involving caravans and their annexes,” Snr Const Dowd said.

"In most cases there have been no signs of forced entry.

"With the spring holiday season fast approaching, police are urging holiday makers to make sure valuable items such as bicycles, fishing rods, wallets, purses, mobile phones, eskies and alcohol are secured and where possible placed out of sight.”
