The silver screen beckons Gympie couple

GYMPIE couple Dani Bell and Steve Clough (pictured) have plans to transfer their passion for the stage on to the silver screen.

Steve will play a police officer in a short film now in production in the Hinterland, while Dani will turn her hand to make-up and applying the fake blood.

The as yet un-named short film, by Spida Productions, will be shot in Witta with a cast of between 20 and 30 actors and a crew of 25.

The drama is a thriller with a twist about a bikie gang with the human propensity to pre-judge.

The director of the project, Anthony Miller, originally from Bundaberg is not only an accomplished actor himself, but also an experienced first assistant director.

Producer Colin Dixon is also the screenwriter and enlisted Miller to come on board the project as director a little over six months ago.

Miller was keen to recruit the local pair, who are also close personal friends.

Steve and Dani are no strangers to performing with the pair being heavily involved with the Gympie Theatre Association for the past few years.

The production wraps up this Sunday and the film is due for release in six months.
