The Shed amps up the Nanango music scene

NANANGO's music scene will welcome some fresh new talent into the region, with two professional performance events held at The Shed over the next week.

The Shed owner Jane Erkens thinks the next few events will be a treat for everyone.

"Tonight, it's going to be just a normal jam session, but tomorrow night we have the Hinterlanders, which are a six-piece band from Brisbane, and it's the second time they've been here,” she said.

"On Thursday November 22, we have The Hillbilly Goats who come with a great many recommendations.”

The Hillbilly Goats are renowned performers, playing at a variety of major events before coming to the South Burnett.

"They've previously performed at Tamworth, the Gympie Muster, the Airlie Beach music festival and all major festivals throughout the east coast of Australia,” Ms Erkens said.

"The reason we got the Hillbilly goats is because somebody who frequents our Shed is also a fan of theirs. After attending a couple of concerts, they mentioned The Shed in Nanango.

"The Hillbilly Goats ended up ringing me saying that a lot of people who went to The Shed were fans of theirs, so they asked if it was possible to put on a concert here.”

Tickets for either the Hinterlanders or the Hillbilly Goats go for $20 each, a fee many are prepared to pay.

"They apparently put on a show full of energy, so with nearly 7000 people following them, there are a lot of people interested in the event next Thursday,” Ms Erkens said.

According to Ms Erkens, many people are coming from far and wide to hear music in Nanango.

"With these events coming up, there are a number of people who have come from Redcliffe, Gympie and all areas surrounding the South Burnett. With so many people in town, we're also very excited to see more people at tonight's free weekly jam session,” she said.
