'Thank you mum': Preppies celebrate their mums with high tea
AS A mother herself, prep teacher Katrina Walton knows just how special it is to celebrate Mother's Day surrounded by family, and most importantly her own children.
That's why when it came time to organise Mother's Day activities for her students at Our Lady of the Southern Cross College, involving the mums and kids in a big group activity was a no brainer.
OLSCC's preppies held a High Tea for their mums, followed by a liturgy where they thanked their mums for everything they've done and everything they continue to do.
Mrs Walton said days like these were important in not only celebrating the amazing mums of her students, but to also educate the preppies.
"I think it's important for them to recognise important figures in their lives and to acknowledge what their mums do for them,” she said.
"It gives them time to reflect on what it is they really love about their mums, what they know their mums love about them, and just to give it a bit of significance.”
