Thank you barbie to honour fireys

WANT to say thank you to all the firefighters who have been battling the Wallangarra blaze? Now is your chance.

The Ballandean Rural Fire Brigade, in conjunction with the Ballandean Football Club, will be holding a BBQ on Saturday, March 9 for all the Granite Belt residents to come and have an opportunity to say thanks to all the volunteers and staff that have worked to get the recent fire under control.

Entertainment will be provided by local band Last Days from 6.30pm at the Ballandean Football Club with food and bar operating all night.

This event was cancelled last week at the height of the fire so the brigade management feel this is a perfect opportunity for the wider community to come and meet the people who battled this beast.

If you intend to head along organisers have asked that you give them a heads up for catering purposes.

If you have special dietary needs please let them know. Admission is $5 per person.

Contact Jason Nash on 0466 899 894 for more information.
