Terror attack in Java foiled

A SUICIDE bomber blew himself up yesterday morning outside a police station in the city of Solo in Central Java.

Local media reported he detonated his explosives when prevented from entering the gates to the station on his motorbike.

One police officer received eye injuries.

The attack came three weeks after police prevented a suicide bombing of a police station in the city of Surabaya in East Java.

On January 14, eight people were killed in an Islamic State-inspired attack at a shopping mall in Jakarta, including four of the attackers. A police post was bombed during the attack.
