What: Mackay parkrun

When: Saturday from 7am

Where: Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens

Mackay parkrun is a free, timed, 5km run / walk put on by the community for the community held every Saturday.

What: Family Fun Morning

When: Tuesday, April 19 from 10am - noon

Where: MECC, North Foyer

Families with children aged 0-5 are invited to come and learn about First 5 Forever programs, available free through your local libraries. The Family Fun Morning will provide a great outing, with opportunities to engage in a variety of activities including storytelling, songs, craft, light and shadow play, music and movement and four themed discovery zones - 'Jungle Rumble', 'Ships Ahoy', 'Errol's Lilly Pad' and 'Into the Woods'. Come and learn about the First 5 Forever programs in Mackay. Now is the perfect time to explore how talking, singing, playing and reading with your child helps them to develop their communication skills.

What: Carl Warner: Where we've been; travels in the Pacific

When: Saturday, April 16 at 11am

Where: Foyer Gallery, Artspace Mackay

Carl Warner is a leading contemporary Queensland artist working in lens based media. His latest solo exhibition will feature works created over 20 years spent travelling the Pacific rim detailing human presence and includes time spent in Mackay. This exhibition is Artspace Mackay's contribution to the sixth Queensland Festival of Photography. Visit Artspace Mackay Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 5pm and Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 3pm.

A free yoga open day is being held by 8 Limb tomorrow. Classes will be running from 7.15am to 1.15pm 9 classes in total. For classes times go to 8limbyoga.com.au or phone 4953 2048

To celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Society, we are holding an Open Day on tomorrow 9am-1pm. There will be experienced volunteers on duty to help with free research for all. What: Special Free Friday Guided Walk - Art Works

When: Friday, April 15 at 10am

Where:  The Garden's Shop, Mackay Botanic Gardens

Join Maya Harrison and discover the Botanic Gardens' artworks throughout the Gardens and in the buildings. We will also see the plants that inspired "The Bungee Jumping Caterpillars" book which has artworks created by members of the Botanical Art Interest Group.
