Tell cancer to take a hike by signing up
THE Leukaemia Foundation is challenging reasonably fit men and women to join a unique weekend adventure: hiking through our own gorgeous Sunshine Coast hinterland.
The 55 for 5 two-day guided charity hike is on August 19 and 20.
The hike winds through the Sunshine Coast hinterland's Great Walk and takes in waterfalls, gorges, rock pools, scenic views and subtropical rainforest.
Limited places are available on the group hike which aims to raise $50,000 to help beat blood cancer.
Leukaemia Foundation CEO Bill Petch said the annual hike was a great opportunity to achieve a personal goal while helping improve the lives of blood cancer patients.
"Those who join us for 55 for 5 will be hiking alongside some very inspirational people who are living with a blood cancer or who are doing it for a loved one,” Mr Petch said.
"The money raised through the hike will provide practical and emotional support for families fighting blood cancer as well as fund critical medical research increasing survival rates.”

The registration fee of $220 applies to cover accommodation, meals and transport.
Hikers are asked to fundraise $555.
The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national charity dedicated to helping those with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders survive and then go on to live a better quality of life.
It exists only because of the generous and ongoing support of the Australian community.
