THE Queensland Weekender television crew washed up on the shores of Yeppoon this week to film their latest half-hour special.

The production crew along with host Chris Parsons said they were excited to be in town, and hoped to bring some tourism to the area following Cyclone Marcia.

"It's a 'We're open for business' and more. It's unreal here... stunning scenery and a spectacular environment," Chris said.

"It's not a hard sell... it's a small town that carries such a big impact.

"It has its own atmosphere and flavour. Yeppoon is a place in its own right... and everyone here has just been incredible."

Chris said this was the second trip for himself and his cameraman.

"We were here around Christmas time some years ago and it's changed so much in just two years," he said.

"It is an ever-evolving, beautiful coastal village."

Chris and the crew were filming in beachfront business, Coastal Funk.

The business, in Anzac Pde, is popular for its production of scented candles dubbed 'Karma Kandles'.

Store owners Debbie and Chris Duane were thrilled to have the production visiting their store.

"I am absolutely so excited... it's magic," Debbie said.

"It's a great opportunity for the region; there's so much here but we don't usually get to showcase it."

The episode will be filmed over five days and will feature iconic areas in the region, including The Caves, Yeppoon and Great Keppel Island.
