Teen to appear in court on weapon charge

A 17-YEAR-OLD Slade Point teenager has been arrested by police officers after allegations of a bow and arrow being discharged in the direction of the Cathy Freeman Oval at Wren Street, Slade Point.

The allegations were made following an incident which occurred at about 4.45pm on January 26.

In response, police commenced a search of the area and located a teenage male in nearby mangroves.

He was arrested as a result and will be appearing at the Mackay Magistrates Court on February 18 charged with discharging a weapon in a public place.
