TOAST the Coast is a bright, happy event to help fight a "dark and prevelant issue that strikes a chord with everyone".

Funds raised from the food and wine festival go to Coast Shelter's Domestic Violence Program, and exhibitors co-ordinator Monique Cardon said support for the cause was just one reason for the festival's appeal.

"Everyone loves good food and a glass of wine or beer, and the music will absolutely delight," she said. "So come along yourself, bring the kids and the grandkids if you like, and have a great day."

Last year 12,000 attended the inaugural event, and more are expected on April 1 this year.

There will be 80 food, wine, boutique beer and cider and specialty exhibits to tempt your tastebuds as well as stalls by sponsors and community groups.

One of last year's hits, Little Creek Cheese, is returning and while there will be many favourites to rediscover, there are also new exhibitors, ensuring a fresh experience.

"We've got celebrity cook Julie Goodwin as our ambassador," Monique said. "And there's some amazing things going on all day in her kitchen at Julie's Place."

Music will include the New Empire Ballroom Ragtime Dance Orchestra, Mimosa, Little Quirks and buskers.

And if you are feeling lucky, Worthington Mini has donated a Mini Ray to raffle on the day. Tickets are available at Erina Fair and the Imperial Centre.

"We've got incredible local wine and food and incredible people here on the Central Coast. It's run by the Rotary Club of Gosford City and the whole club is involved in volunteering for this fantastic event, so come along and give it your support," Monique said.
