IT WAS great to catch up with Matt Shaw from Launceston recently when he stopped over at Mood Food at Kempton for a cuppa and refreshment break.
He was driving a Hagen Oil 2015 CF Daf tanker at the time and was on his return leg to Launceston from Hobart.
Happily he found time for a bit of a chat with us, and told us he had been with Hagen Oil for five years now.
"It's a good, interesting job, where we service agents statewide picking up oil and taking it back to our main depot at Launceston where it is recycled as furnace oil,” he said.
"They have so many agents all around Tasmania that there wouldn't be a road we don't travel, and we certainly see some amazing scenery along the way.
"I've literally spent my whole working life on the road since I was about 20, and previously I drove for Hanson's, Padgett's, even road trains over in Western Australia, and it's all been good and I have no regrets, especially on a day like this.”
Asked how he likes to spend time off he told us he has s shack up on the north coast and he enjoys time there fishing and with the family, as well as gardening.
