Kerry Van Galen

IT WAS good to catch up with our old mate and owner/driver Kerry Van Galen from Launceston the other day when he dropped in to Mood Food for a welcome rest break and cuppa.

He was driving his always-immaculate 2012 Hino 1728 500 (one of the first in Tasmania) for Orbitas Resource Recovery, with eight tonnes of batteries from the Hobart area on board for recycling at the Orbitas depot at Wagga.

He tells us he has been with Orbitas now for seven months and he loves being his own boss, the job, the variety, the client contact and the job satisfaction involved.

He adds that he likes the whole recycling industry - one that is certainly here to stay, and should be happily secure for the future.
