Tassie Truckin’ - Jamie Brooks

"WELL after 18 to 20 years on the road, it's all good, and I must enjoy the job or else I would be doing something else by now, surely," the always cheerful Jamie Brooks from Honeywood told us the other day.

At the time he was driving a pretty schmick Tasmanian Heavy Haulage 2013 K-200 with a 600 Cummins up front, and towing a tri-axle flat deck loaded with steel from Ballarat, fresh off the Sea Road ferry at Devonport, and bound for Kingston.

"I have been here for three years now, and I reckon they are a top outfit to work for and with good gear, I mean look at this truck! A beautiful day like this in Tasmania, how could you complain?"

Time off, he tells us, is all about relaxing and the family.
