Dean Edwards

STOPPING over at the popular Sassafras Caltex the other day on our return from Burnie, we were delighted to catch up with our old mate Dean Edwards from Flowerdale when he dropped in for a quick bite to eat.

Dean was driving his accustomed eye catching 2007 Iveco Eagle with a 550 Cummins up front and was towing a box of groceries from the Burnie wharves to the new Woolworths Distribution Centre at Launceston.

He tells us he has been running the show now for about nine or 10 years and he is still loving it, and said that keeping his crew happy is still his main objective (and that Wayne and Baz are delighted with the new shed and of course the newly-polished and tarted-up Eagle).

He noted that the freight situation is having its annual end-of-financial-year doldrums, but says he is happily keeping busy enough.
