Tassie Truckin': David Martin

IT WAS, as always, good to catch up with our old mate David Martin from Honeywood, when he rolled in to the Caltex at Epping driving an immaculate Quinn's Transport 2014 4800 FXE Western Star with a 620 Cummins up front and towing a super dog.

He said: "I've just brought this load of fertilizer down from Smithton, and I'm on my way home now to enjoy the weekend. I've been with Quinn's now for six months, and I reckon it's a great job - good gear, nice family outfit, and I am enjoying the challenge.”

We asked him about his time on the road.

"Well I've been either in, or around trucks, or cleaning them, or driving them, since I was a toddler. I guess I am still rapt in the job. Oh and did I tell you I love the Western Star? It's a magic truck and perfect for the job.”

Asked about time off, David said: "Well I have cleaning up to do, and spend most of it trying to fire reduce my two-and-a-half acres at Honeywood lately. Then there is getting the garden organised. Oh while you're here, can I sing out to Brendon Butters to tell him I'm back in Big Rigs, eat your heart out, and also to Kevin in Rigidog Hire.”
