Tassie Truckin’: David Jones

"I HAVE this nickname of Cave Man out on the road," the amiable David Jones from Cressy told us.

At the time he was driving a 2014 Cressy Transport XF 510 Hp Daf, and he was on his way from Tunbridge to Scottsdale towing a Tri-axle flat deck loaded with hay.

"I've been here for nine years now and I reckon they are a great outfit. I usually cart general, but whatever we go all over the state, 'anywhere anytime any place' is about the motto," he said.

"All up I've been on the road about 15 years now, and I reckon it's a great job, personally, and it certainly suits me, as I reckon I'm a Jack-of-all-trades anyway."

Time off David tells us is enjoyed camping and fishing "mainly up at the Great Lakes, and we have some favourite private spots up there, and the ability to get away to such places is truly one of the big advantages we have living here in Tasmania".
