Chris Quinn

STOPPING in at the Caltex Roadhouse and Truckstop (and also site of the Tassie Truckers Memorial Wall) at Epping Forest for a bite to eat the other day, we were happy to catch up with Chris Quinn, from Pontville, when he dropped in for a quick cuppa.

He was driving a Les Walkden 2013 500 Hp FM Volvo and towing a B-double of plantation logs from Beulah on their way to Boyer at the time.

Chris tells us this is his third time back with Les Walkden and he has been with the outfit for about seven years all up, and that it is a top outfit to work for.

Chris recalls that he has been on the road now for 40 years or so: "Too long, in fact, but it's still a good way to earn a living and pay the bills."

When asked how he put in his spare time, he told us he was keeping pretty busy renovating a house at the moment.
