Tassie Truckin': Chris Dennis

"I RECKON I've got just the best job out there, and one that I really enjoy too!”

Chris Dennis from Devonport told us this recently when he pulled in to Mood Food at Kempton for a welcome break and a hot cuppa

Chris was driving a Morris Plant Transport 2004 FL6 Volvo at the time and was on his return leg from Hobart back to Devonport and then knock off for the day.

"I have been here for 15 years now, and it really suits me. I enjoy being on the road, and I like plants, so it's a great combination,” Chris said.

"We are always busy, though it does get a bit hectic come spring, but the rest of the year it's all good.

"You get a lot of variety and get to know all the nursery and garden centre staff who are normally very nice and easy to get on with.

"Also you get to learn a whole lot about the freight (plants!) and the business.”

Asked about time off, he added:

"Well in fact I spend a lot of it pottering around home gardening! Also I enjoy tinkering with old cars, including my own Triumph Spitfire!”
