Take note of closures on the M1 from Sunday

TRUCK drivers should take note of road closures on Sunday on the M1 Princes Motorway (Mount Ousley Road) and Picton Road for essential maintenance work.

The M1 will be closed between Bulli Tops and Memorial Drive and Picton Road to be closed between the M1 and Wilton while we carry out work to improve safety for motorists.

Maintenance work to be completed includes vegetation removal, line marking, cleaning drains to improve water run-off and guardrail repairs.

The roads will be closed in both directions on Sunday, May 19 between 8pm and 4am. Picton Road eastbound will be closed from 7.30pm to ensure the M1 is clear by 8pm.

If work is delayed, work will be carried out on Sunday June 2.

Motorists travelling between Wollongong and Bulli Tops will be detoured via Memorial Drive and Bulli Pass, and should allow up to 10 minutes additional travel time.

Motorists travelling between Wollongong and the Hume Motorway will be detoured via Memorial Drive, Bulli Pass and Appin Road, and should allow up to 40 minutes additional travel time. Light vehicles can also use Broughton Pass between Appin Road and Picton Road.

Motorists travelling to the Hume Motorway can also detour via Macquarie Pass.

More information about upcoming road closures including detour maps is available at rms.work/srrc.
