Surat RSL supports Roma's Light Horse

THERE wasn't a 'long face' in sight after Roma's Light Horse Brigade received a check from the Surat Sub-branch of the RSL.

President of the Roma Light Horse Brigade David Schefe said they were honoured to take part in the Surat Anzac Day service earlier this year and were appreciative of the support.

"We were invited by the Surat Sub-Branch of the RSL to attend the Anzac Day service this year,” Mr Schefe said.

"We had two riders attend, myself and Hayley Forbes who is our newest member.

"We were very happy with day and the way we were welcomed and the RSL in their appreciation have offered to make a donation to the Roma Light Horse, which we are very grateful for.”

Surat RSL secretary Ed Sims said it was fantastic to have the Light Horse Brigade involved.

"Every year we conduct the Anzac Day service and for us to have the Light Horse there was really phenomenal addition,” Mr Sims said.

"The kids just loved the fact that they made the effort.”
