"I'm really looking forward to putting in the work, learning more about circuit racing and having some exciting weekends.
"It's going to be a good time and I'm aiming to keep it on four wheels and get some good results."
Price enjoyed his first test laps in the Ute at Queensland Raceway during performance parity testing by Series officials.
While his exploits on a motorcycle are well recorded, Price has dipped his toe into four-wheel competition in recent years. He raced a truck in both of the past editions of the Finke Desert Race and in the 2016 Baja 1000, while he's also been a regular competitor in Stadium Super Trucks.
Price's pursuit of a maiden cross country rallies world championship with KTM will take precedence over his SuperUtes campaign, with the team keen to run replacement driver in Price's Triton when he is unavailable.
Mitsubishi's factory support of Team Triton is for two years, covering the supply of utes as well as parts.
"Motorsport has played a central role in Mitsubishi's heritage and vehicle development so we embraced the opportunity to partner with Sieders Racing in the 2018 SuperUte Series," Tim Hore, Mitsubishi Australia's Deputy Director of Sales, said.
"SuperUtes is a great way to showcase the Mitsubishi brand and the increasingly popular Australian ute market, with close, competitive racing.
"And with our ambassador Toby Price behind the wheel of a Team Triton racecar at the Adelaide 500, the 2018 SuperUte Series is shaping up to be even more exciting."
Price will be on the grid for the SuperUtes debut races at the Adelaide 500 on March 1-4.
