IT WAS a lucky day for one truck driver who became stranded hours from help when travelling to Fish Creek in the Northern Territory.
The 65 year-old truck driver was travelling to Fish Creek to install solar panels when he became bogged in a creek bed on an isolated road.
Prepared the driver contacted his employer by satellite phone and he alerted Police with GPS coordinates of a possible location.
Police found the driver and his truck and trailer approximately 2.5 hours away from Doomadgee just over the Northern Territory border.
With help from members of Bowthorn Station, Police were able to tow the vehicles from the creek bed.
