Still places available on Business Fest tours this month
PLACES are still available for the wide variety of Business Tours being offered as part of Fraser Coast Opportunities Business Fest this month.
Q Mulching is opening its facilities at the Nikenbah Recycling Centre to the public for the first tour on Wednesday from 10am to 11am.
Q Mulching provides contract services for the clearing of treed properties and creates landscaping mulch by-product.
Mayor Gerard O'Connell said the tours were a great way for the residents to see another side of local business.
"We have a very broad range of services and specialised industry here on the Fraser Coast," he said.
"These tours are a great chance for residents and fellow business people on the Fraser Coast to learn about and appreciate the variety of services we have here and how they operate."
"And places are still available for anyone interested so log on to www.frasercoast.qld.gov.au/web/fraser-coast-opportunities/business-fest
On Friday, July 5, Peter Adams and his team will conduct a business tour of Seabird Aviation where they have been designing, certifying and manufacturing specialised aircraft since 1983.
"Places are limited but it's a chance to see firsthand the inner workings of a truly specialised industry and it's not to be missed," Cr O'Connell said.
There are many more being held through the entire month of July including tours of Consolidated Linen Services, Olds Engineering and Global Manufacturing Group.
Business Fest is a showcase of local business coinciding with the formation of Fraser Coast Opportunities, the new entity formed to promote economic development, investment opportunities, events and tourism across the Fraser Coast.
"The idea is to bring the long-established businesses together with the many new businesses that have set up on the Fraser Coast."
"It is a perfect opportunity to introduce your organisation to your local business community and to promote your services and products.
Businesses interested in opening their doors or organising an event or workshop can register with Fraser Coast Regional Council's Economic Development Officer Amanda Hall on 1300 794 929.
Fraser Coast organisations already planning an event that fits into the Business Fest can also take advantage of free marketing by registering the event with the council.
