Still no date for 4G in Kingaroy for Optus customers
KINGAROY Optus customers have been left in the digital dark ages with no firm date in sight for the long promised 4G upgrade.
The telco first promised 4G would be coming to Kingaroy all the way back in October 2014, 18 months ago.
At the time Optus promised services would be switched to the superior 4G network "over the next few months".
Other towns in the South Burnett had made the jump, with 4G services in Murgon and Nanango going live last year.
An Optus spokesman said the 4G service was still in the pipeline for Kingaroy, but he could not point to a date for when it would go live.
What is 4G
- 4G is the name for the fourth generation of mobile technology.
- Connections can be up to seven times faster than 3G networks.
- Currently Telstra is the company offering 4G access in Kingaroy.
