Staycation campaign targets locals

FRASER Coast Regional Council and Maryborough Chamber of Commerce have joined forces to launch an I Love Mary campaign that is hoped will bring the crowds to the Heritage City.

The month-long Staycations campaign has called on local businesses to create a special promotion for this month to attract Staycations card users.

Small businesses in Maryborough that are looking to attract business can head to www.ourfrasercoast.com.au to register an I Love Mary Staycations deal.

The deals will be advertised on www.ourfrasercoast.com.au for the rest of the month.

More than 30,000 Staycation cards have been registered across the Fraser Coast.

The Staycations initiative was launched by the council more than four months ago to encourage residents to holiday, shop and dine locally.

The I Love Mary campaign has been designed to complement a new marketing initiative to revitalise Maryborough's city centre.

Both campaigns were timed to coincide with the iconic Mary Poppins Festival held last week.
