Stars shine at Australian TV’s night of nights
THE biggest names in Australian television were on display last night at the 2013 TV Week Logie Awards, and the red carpet was sizzling hot.
The big trend of the night was all about the detailed back, with stars the likes of Carrie Bickmore, Sonia Kruger and Shelley Craft daring to bare with sexy plunging backs.
Lace and metallic materials were also huge on the red carpet, with most stars rocking at least one of the trends.
Home and Away star and no stranger to the best dressed list, Samara Weaving, delivered once again and showed the ladies how it's done in a slinky long-sleeved red lace number by Steven Khalil, messy up do and sexy smoky eyes.
Michelle Bridges showed off her rocking body in an intricate lace strapless dress and loose curls.
Jennifer Hawkins looked sensational in a black cut-out sequin number that only a former Miss Universe could pull of, while news presenter Magdelena Roze looked simply stunning as she worked a modern version of old Hollywood glamour in a skin-toned sequin strapless gown, side-swept curls and a deep red lip.
Laura Dundovic strayed from the metallic and lace trends and it paid off, sizzling in a divine strapless web patterned coral gown, with sultry side-swept messy curls and a bright coral lip, and Gold logie winner of the night, Asher Keddie, was all class in her simple black and white gown.
But as with every year, while most oozed elegance, class and glamour, there were a few who fell short.
While it comes as no shock to anyone, Brynne Edelstein once again got attention for all the wrong reasons, with her entirely tasselled white dress, tacky multi-coloured heels and lack of styling to her bleached blond hair.
Susie Eleman also flopped in her attempt to work the metallic trend, with her plunging neckline anything but flattering.
But the surprise flops of the night were none other than Georgie Parker, Claudia Karvan and global pop sensation Bruno Mars.
Georgie's Zebra print one-shoulder dress with shoulder bling was way too over the top, Claudia Karvan's dress was a confused collection of materials that just didn't work and Bruno mars took his current obsession with all things seventies too far by showing up in a pair of burgundy jeans and a Hawaiian shirt.
