Stanthorpe girls go together in Grease

TWO Stanthorpe performers will be on stage with musical theatre greats Chrstine Anu and Megan O'Shea as a part of the upcoming Grease - The Arena Experience in Brisbane.

Susie Cobon and Hollie Brunckhorst will join an ensemble of 800 singing, dancing and acting at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Saturday, July 14.

Susie is excited about what she will learn.

"It teaches amateur performers how to be professional in a way,” she said.

"It's pretty exciting to meet all the people who want to be a part of it,” Hollie said.

It's the first time either of the girls have been in a large-scale performance.

"I'm looking forward to having a bigger audience,” Susie said.

"I've normally just done performances at the civic centre, which is small, but this will have the audiences all around.

"I'll probably get nervous a bit closer but at the moment I'm just excited.”

The girls went to a boot camp two weekends ago and go into two weeks of full and half-day rehearsals in the school holidays.

Both hope to have careers in performing arts.

"We'll get a bit more experience and see how we go,” Susie said.
