Stamping passports, ticking bucket lists

THOUSANDS seeking to satisfy their wanderlust are expected to descend on the MECC next month for the annual helloworld travel expo.

Mark Walter, general manager of helloworld Mackay and Mt Pleasant, said he was excited about the expo and looked forward to showcasing the travel options available to Mackay region residents.

"Our travel expo is an exciting event for Mackay, as customers get access to the top experts in the travel industry,” Mr Walter said.

"Having the opportunity to speak to 90 leading travel suppliers and 27 local travel consultants under the one roof is something only the helloworld travel expo can offer.”

Mr Walter said there would be expert and insider tips on the best destinations around the world.

"From first-time travellers to the seasoned traveller looking for something unique, you can find your next holiday at the expo,” he said.

Another attraction to the expo is the Flavours of the World competition. Many Mackay restaurants and cafes are taking part in the city centre promotion.

"We are also excited to be drawing the winner of the Flavours of the World promotion at expo, where one lucky winner will take home an $11,000 trip for two to this year's hottest destination, Canada,” Mr Walter said.

"Not to mention the fact that this event will give our customers access to incredible savings and deals offered exclusively at the expo.

"We plan this expo from the ground up and the event is equivalent to what you would see in a capital city.

"Our goal for this event is to provide an opportunity for the public to become more educated on travelling - the options available, new destinations, tips and tricks.

"Travelling is for everyone - no matter your age, budget or bucket list, there is a holiday out there just for you.”
