St Mary's Art Extravaganza
Student's at St Mary's School have worked hard, with brush in hand, this term putting together the school's first Art Extravaganza.
Each student from prep to grade six had contributed a piece to be displayed in the schools MacKillop Centre.
The school invited family and friends on Wednesday night to attend the showcase.
Deputy principal Sharon Young said the night was to recognise the achievements of the children.
"There are exceptional things happening in the schools arts curriculum,” Mrs Young said.
"Parents were treated to an outstanding variety of art work on Wednesday night.”
The hall was covered in paintings inspired by Vincent van Gogh's, The Starry Night and Australian Author Dorothea Mackellar's, I Love a Sunburnt Country.
Student's also tampered in string work, in preparation for the town's Jumpers and Jazz in July festival.
The student's art work was on display for two days and Mrs Young said the display has helped inspire students.
"It's given the student's the opportunity to be inspired by their peers work,” She said.
The school's junior and senior choirs provided entertainment for the evening, under the direction of teachers Catriona Lawson and Erin Hilton.
