Squires appointed to safety tribunal

THE Queensland Trucking Association Ltd (QTA) and the Australian Road Transport Industrial Organisation (ARTIO) Queensland branch are delighted that Tim Squires has been appointed to the Road Safety Tribunal.

Tim is the QTA Ltd immediate past president continuing to serve as a director of the company, having been the association president for the past four years.

The tribunal will provide an opportunity for parties to bring to the table disputes over commercial transactions which adversely impact on the ability of operators to obtain a return on investment and avoid road safety risk.

Applications will be heard after January 1, 2013, while the tribunal will work towards road safety outcomes from this financial year.
