SpyGlass a look into other lives
SPYGLASS is Stanthorpe Little Theatre's current production.
After a big year of comedies, a talent show, music showcase, movie screenings and Shakespeare, there is one more chance to see its latest, SpyGlass, directed and facilitated by Annie Mitchell and Elise O'Brien.
"SpyGlass opened last Saturday to an appreciative and enthusiastic crowd, so we were thrilled” MsMitchell said.
"Our first performance was full of magical moments and I'm very proud of everyone involved.
"So, what is SpyGlass?
"We've turned the stage into a pub called the SpyGlass with a functioning bar, drinks and snacks.
"The pub is full of interesting characters - the locals - including the barkeep and publican, lovers, a journalist, singers, poets, a couple of old mates and some strangers.
"You'll meet them at the bar when you arrive, where you can buy a glass of wine, beer, a cheese platter and chat for a while.
"Then you can sit back and relax as they share their stories, even their inner thoughts - some sweet, some silly, some mad, sad or surprising.
"The script is mostly original with beautiful heartfelt contributions from cast members along with some wonderful found words.
"Together we shaped what is an experience for both the actors and the audience.
"What started out as a showcase for our actors has turned into something deeper - a slice of life, a look through the spyglass at some of the many ways we are human.
"So come join us for a drink at the SpyGlass. Not only will you have a night out at our pub, but you'll be helping us raise funds to improve the theatre venue.”
