Sport plays important role at Dallarnil State School

SCHOOL SPORT : Competition between Dallarnil State School students in table tennis is fierce.

Sponsored by the Dallarnil Sports Club, table tennis has been part of the school’s sporting calendar for many years.

Principal Andrea Kelly said sport played an important part in school life at Dallarnil.

“Physical activity adds to the whole development of the student,” she said.

“It’s about getting out and having fun.”

Sporting trophies were presented at the school’s awards and end of year concert last Wednesday night.

Dallarnil Sports Club representative Di Scholl was there to present table tennis awards to the various age winners.

Results: Minor, aggregate, Ella Harrison; overall, Angela Smith. Junior, aggregate, Peyton Thode and Danni-elle Smith tied. Overall, Caleb Scholl. Senior, aggregate, Catherine White; overall Aeddan White.

Dallarnil Masonic Lodge’s representative Brian Flanders presented the award for overall sporting achievement to Aeddan White and Catherine White.

The twins have represented the school in a variety of sports during 2019.

Aeddan represented North Burnett at softball, touch football, cross country, rugby league and cricket and Wide Bay for softball.

Catherine represented North Burnett at softball, touch football, athletics, rugby league and cricket.

At Wide Bay level Catherine played softball and cricket before gaining Queensland selection to play in Adelaide.

The sporting encouragement award sponsored by Max Pearce was awarded to Daniel Russell and Peyton Thode.
