Crowds clap CQ Convoy as it honks its way through Rocky

9am: The CQ Convoy is attracting plenty of spectator support this morning as a long line of trucks move through Rockhampton on its way to its  Paradise Lagoons fun day.

The trucks and support vehicles left CQUniversity grounds at 8.30am and from then on the honks came thick and fast as crowds of spectators cheered the convoy.

The annual event is held to raise money to assist sick children in the region.

CQ Convoy's Mission statement: "Our mission is to provide medical and other equipment that is not funded by the government, servicing our regional hospital's paediatric and neonatal units and emergency departments with paediatric specific equipment. 

We also provide equipment to the smaller hospitals in the region where pediatric units have been closed down but still have seriously ill children attending for treatments."

Admission to today's event at Paradise Lagoons from 10am: Adults $10 - Kids 13-17yo $5 - under 13yo free. •Truck Show •Magic Show •Amusement Rides •Trade Displays •Markets •Licenced Bar •Food & Drinks •Petting Zoo.
