Son pays tribute to dad, who died in Sydney truck smash

THE family of a 50-year-old truck driver who died in a truck crash in Sydney's north-west have paid tribute to their "hero".

Paul Kerr died in hospital yesterday after spending two hours trapped in his semi-trailer which ploughed into the back of another truck which had pulled over on the M2 just after 2am.

Mr Kerr's son Ben took to Facebook to express his grief.

"Today I lost my Father, my friend and my hero. You were the best dad anyone could have asked for… I love you dad, and always will. I'll forever keep you in my heart," he wrote.

The 30-year-old driver of the other truck escaped with nothing more than scratches and bruises.
